Our Church…<\/strong><\/p>\n

St David’s began as an expansion of St Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Neil Street, when a new Sunday School was opened in Geoffrey Street in 1926. That building was moved to the present site in 1939 and is now our Hall. The foundation stone for a new church was laid by Rt. Reverend W.F. Mackenzie on 12th November, 1949 but services continued to be held in the Hall. The church was finally completed and opened on Saturday, 26th July, 1952 by the State Moderator Rt. Reverend M. McDermant.<\/p>

    This small local church is a fine example of a cruciform Presbyterian Church in the Tudor style. The church features an excellent example of a Presbyterian Pulpit and Elders Court in the Sanctuary area, as well as a lovely panelled wooden interior and leadlight windows.<\/p>

      This land was once scrub beside a dirt track, and it continues to be improved to this day. The row of cypress pines in the car park date from 1939, and the Jacaranda in the south-west corner is the only survivor of eight planted in 1945. Various trees and rose bushes have been donated over the years in loving memory of late members. The present team of “green thumbs” is dedicated to presenting the garden at its best to the glory of God and the pleasure of all. We are delighted to have received 2nd Prize in the “Places of Worship” category of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Garden Competition for 2015.<\/p>\n
